People and all other living things were adversely affected in the forest fires that started on 28 July 2021 in Antalya’s Manavgat district and spread to many cities of Turkey. As of August 12, 2021, 299 forest fires, 15 of which were large, were completely brought under control with the extinguishing of the fire in the Köyceğiz district of Muğla. Thousands of locals and tourists were evacuated from hundreds of villages and towns by land and sea as the fires spread to the settlements.
